Somebody’s been shopping…

Seems that we are all doing more online shopping these days so I thought it would be fun to design a set of tiny shipping cartons. I also wanted something unique to offer to my new subscribers. I posted these on my Facebook page earlier but wanted to add some visual instructions to my site since everyone doesn’t use FB.

These little cartons are simple to make and include attention to the tiniest of detail. They are great for photo props, doll house accessories or just to build and share with friends. My USPS Mail delivery lady loves them! I made her a few to share with her coworkers.

I design and sew for dolls of various sizes so I wanted the little shipping cartons to work with a range of dolls 14” to 18”. These are fun and require just a few steps: Print, Cut, Fold and Glue.

Print out the PDF file in color on Card Stock weight paper and gather your supplies: Scissors and Paper Glue, (Ruler, Dull Knife and Clothespins are optional)

Cut out the carton templates, package tape and labels.

Fold a crease on all fold lines.

TIP: To get clean crisp edges on your cartons, score the folding lines first. Scoring creates a line in the paper that guides the fold and prevents the paper from cracking or crinkling. First use a dull knife or bone folder and a ruler. Press the ruler down firmly at the place you want to fold. Then take the knife and draw a line staying right next to the ruler. You want to press down firm enough to create a valley in the paper deep enough to allow the paper to fold easily.

Glue the side seams first. I found that using a couple of clothespins to hold the paper for a little bonding time, freed me to work on the next carton or envelope. Fold a crease on the printed tape strips before adding glue. Apply the printed tape strips with glue, to the top and bottom of each carton. Add the label and you’re all done!

If your not yet a subscriber, sign up below and get the free PDF download to print and create your tiny cartons! The PDF file contains three pages of full color templates to print out and build a UPS Express Letter, a USPS Priority Box, and three different sizes of Amazin boxes. All include tiny labels and customized box “tape".

Would love to hear how you use the tiny shipping cartons!

Thanks,

Angela
